Description

At the bottom of a trench or manhole, the air can run short of oxygen or fill with gases heavier than air without anyone noticing. The ALTAIR 4XR continuously measures combustible gas (LEL), oxygen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide, and alerts the person wearing it.

It is built for the job site: the manufacturer rates it for 25 drops from 1.2 m, and it runs from -40 to +60 °C, so through the winter too.

Switch it on and let it finish its check in fresh air before going down, then keep it on you for the whole job. In Québec, confined space work requires the air to be checked before entry and during the work.
